Summer at last!

A hot day found me racing off from work to stroll along the canal between Blakemere and Colmere. Numerous White-legged Damselflies were a highlight on the canal and large numbers of Black-tailed Skimmer present at Cole Mere:

A much better photo this time where you really can see the clear wings with no basal patches of colour (as seen in chasers).
S. Barlow has also been enjoying White-legged Damselflies on the Llangollen Canal just north of Whitchurch along with Brown Hawker and Banded Demoiselles.

And T. Evans has sent in some great photos of Beautiful Demoiselle male and females seen on the River Clun at Cockshutford:
