Just returned from checking a privately owned site to the north east of Shrewsbury where I was lucky enough to see Downy Emerald -recorded for the second year at this location which is great. Though the owners do not want to encourage visitors I wanted to mention it as it is well worth checking wooded sites at the moment....you never know!
And as the blog title suggests I saw my first Emperor of the season- 2 in fact- fast and fabulous as ever and consequently not a photo to prove it -sorry.
