Dabbling in Damselflies

Gwyn and Sue Hiatt have been very busy recording near Telford which keeps me occupied (!) and also provides some lovely photos to share. At Priorslee Lake on 6th June amongst a plethora of damselflies they caught a Common Blue having a large lunch...

..and a Red-eyed Damselfly not resting on a lily pad for a change....

and a selection of emergent specimens....note my lack of identification!

Just in case you're wondering, the white threads are the old inner linings of the breathing tubes or tracheae that run through an insects body.
